Derin started the 2021-season at the Sunshine Tour in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain, with ten horses.

The youngsters, Faline Des Chaines (Contendro x Cento), Pride of the Lowlands BH (Darco x Major de la Cour) and Cannavaro Denfer (Cannabis Z x Quidam de Revel), jumped really well in the CSIYH1* classes, all of them finishing in the top three over the three weeks of competition.

In the CSI3* and CSI4* 1.45m classes, Caprice d’Elle (Arko III x Papillon Rouge) finished with one victory and two top ten placings, while Koblenz vd Middelstede (Diktator van de Boslandhoeve x Muscaris d’Ariel) placed 10th in the first week’s CSI3* 1.50m Grand Prix and 7th in the last week’s CSI4* 1.55-1.60m Grand Prix.

Very sadly, the Sunshine Tour came to an abrupt end due to the EHV-1 outbreak and finished after the first three weeks.
